I must admit when Judith Skinner gifted me a Wusthof cheese knife three summers ago my first inclination was to save it for cheese.
As any kitchen tool enlisted for working with polymer clay, the tool should stay in your studio and not be used for food preparation in the future. As soon as Judith demonstrated how easy it was to cut bricks of clay with that knife, I was hooked. Over the course of a year of teaching I need to cut more than a hundred pounds of clay into smaller portions.
Perhaps you don’t use that much polymer clay…cutting with this knife takes a lot of strain off your hands (and makes for a great conversation piece in your studio). Colorado artist Sarajane Helm has these knives available from her on-line store. And if you know any cheese lovers it would make for a great holiday gift.
