Weaver’s often have much in common with polymer clay artists when it comes to working with color- especially when we combine colors and reduce our canes. At a reduced scale the color interactions are very similar to those that weaver’s experience. When are the contrasts of hue, value and saturation sufficent to create flow and definition when woven together?
I came across an inspiring blog today – Weaving Spirit - by Bonnie Tarses. Her most recent post has to do with photo shopping color collages that she had made for a workshop she presents= “Finding the Color Within.”
Making your own color collages can provide personal touchstones for exploring color combinations. My “Dancing with the Rainbow Workshop” starts out with a color inspiration collage .
The collage pictured here is mine- it is a magazine clipping collage from my visual journal- that has been kaleidoscoped via the Go Daddy website.
