Here is an interesting post on a mustard colored accent wall at Apartment Therapy . While I am not quite ready to paint a mustard colored accent wall in my apartment- it is a wonderful color and condiment to consider in the depth of winter.
To mix a mustard color using polymer clay = 30 parts cadmium yellow, one part fuschia and one part ultramarine blue.
Or- you might want to try the yummy mustard potatoes I made the other day…
Roasted Mustard Potatoes
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup Dijon mustard
3 Lbs. Fingerling potatoes
Sea salt to taste
3-4 sprigs of fresh thyme or 1t dried thyme
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Mix mayonnaise and mustard together and toss with potatoes. Place in large roasting pan and sprinkle with sea salt. Roast potatoes for 45 -55 minutes – or until the potatoes are soft and tender, while tossing occasionally . Add the fresh thyme sprigs for the last fifteen minutes of the cooking time.

I love that color. My new big, bright, wonderful studio is painted that color-it’s called “lioness” by the paint company. It IS a warm color to be enveloped in on this cold, gray winter day.
