You will learn how to make a “perfect” Skinner blend log in the colors of your choice- bright, pastel, Fall or outrageous. Canes then will be reduced and shared by the group to make your cane. Lindly will walk you through twisting and tweaking your cane to make her version of the Damascus Ladder cane. You may choose to make a brooch or set of focal beads during class.
Flame Stitch Brooch Saturday January 16th, 2010 1 -4:30 pm !st Floor large conference room
You will learn how to choose and mix colors for a successful stack blend cane. After accenting your cane with a “spice” note color- slices of your cane will be used to make a Flame Stitch pattern that may be used to cover beads or fashion a brooch during class. Explore Lindly’s unique approach to making polymer clay Bargello.
Rainbow Ikat Cane Saturday March 20th, 2010 1-4:30 pm Upper Conference Room
Learn how to mix colors within your preferred saturation range (bright, pastel or muted). Once your colors are mixed, Lindly will walk you through making a stripe blend that will be used to make an Ikat patterned cane. Several different options will be presented for “outlining” you cane – which may be used to cover a pen, make a focal bead or brooch during class.
Tropical Floral Fantasy Saturday June 19th, 2010 !st floor large conference room
Make a sumptuous tropical floral arrangement using simple polymer clay canes that can be used as a focal point for a necklace or be worn as a brooch. Several of the most amazing fetes of nature- torch ginger, anthuriams, birds of paradise and palm fronds will provide inspiration. You will select from a variety of possible color ways, learn how to construct the blended canes and practice some useful sculpting strategies. Pulling the assemblage together, a wearable color sample brooch, will be part of the fun learning experience.
Driving directions:
The Packard Center is located in Annandale Community Park at 4022
Hummer Road.
General orientation: If the Beltway were the circle around a clock face and noon was Wheaton and route 66 was nine o’clock, then the park would be just inside the edge at roughly 8 o’clock. The park is two blocks in from the Beltway, just off Little River Turnpike.
Get off the Beltway at Little River Turnpike (Rte. 236) and go
east toward Annandale. Immediately get into the left
lane, and make a left at the first light onto Hummer Road. Drive about a
block and a half until the road starts to bend to your right. You will see
a sign on the LEFT side of the street for Annandale Community Park;
that’s what you’re looking for. Turn left into that driveway. When the
driveway splits, take the fork to the right. Continue up the hill and park
in the parking lot on the left by the Packard Center. When you enter the
front door, you will be in Artisan United’s Gallery. Go straight ahead to
the rear of the building. The 1st floor large conference room is straight ahead. The upper conference room is located at the top of the stairs.
NOTE: If the Fairfax Public Schools are closed for a weather emergency then the Packard Center will be closed and class will be cancelled.

Hi Lindly!
I just wanted you to know that you made a big impact on my life… and not just in my polymer clay times (though that was amazing in breadth)… but also in more important spiritual ways… hope I get to see you again someday…
your host in Colorado Springs…

Will Lindly Haunani give classes in the Washington, D.C. area between now and the end of the year?
Gloria Kirk
Yes! I just have been remiss in posting them and awaiting details from the venues. Thanks for asking! Lindly
I would like to know would you come down in Hornell new york or somewhere in new york …for class ?
Thank you
Hi Lindly,
Loved the class last weekend in NH. Please let me know if you plan to be in FL anytime between Nov., 2009 & May 2010.
Thanks, Veronica
Glad you enjoyed the class- right now I don’t have anything scheduled for Florida this upcoming year- several years ago I taught a class for the Palm Beach Polymer Clay Guild, but I am not sure they are still active? Ironically (or not) I recieved an email from a woman from Canada this weekend asking if I would be teaching in the Palm Beach area this winter? Hope you have a safe trip- Lindly Haunani
